What a Week

This post will probably be lengthy so I will apologize now. This past Sunday Pete fed PJ his bottle in the morning and when he sat up he threw up. He acted fine the rest of the day so we didn't really didn't think anything of it. Well then on Monday we did some running around in the morning and then after his nap he threw up again. Then he started acting like he did not feel good. He threw up a few more times, then he slept through the night just fine. On Tuesday he still threw up and then he had a fever of 102. So the poor kid has the flu and on top of it he was teething. He was in rough shape. When he wasn't puking he was very cranky. Anything would set him off and then he would scream and nothing would comfort him. He didn't want to be held, put down, nothing. Since he has never been a fussy baby this screaming was putting me over the edge. I give credit to those who have colic or just plan fussy babies. I thought he was doing a little better by Tuesday night but then Wednesday he still threw up after he ate. I also woke up to Pete doing the same thing. Fun huh! By now I was praying that I would not be the next otherwise we would be in deep trouble cause we have no one else to help us. Wednesday was a long day. After a few days of PJ screaming and being sick I was starting to loose it. I don't think that it helps being pregnant on top of it. So I called his ped, at least I thought I was, to see once if there is anything we can do for him when I realized I had called my OB office instead. I was already beside myself before I called and then when I was explaining to the nurse my situation she said why are you calling here then. I looked at my phone a realized who I had called. I said sorry cause I thought she was annoyed and told her that I meant to call PJ's doc and not mine. I got off the phone and completely lost it. Now PJ is looking at me thinking what is wrong with her. Wednesday was a long day. Pete felt better by Thursday and so did PJ. He still had his screaming moments but he was feeling better. It is now Saturday night and we are all healthy and feeling better. God answered my prayers and I never got sick. Tomorrow we are going to try out another church so hopefully that will go well. For those of you South Christian alumni we are going to Ben Handlogtens church. I guess he lives not to far from us and apparently Petes dad and his dad are cousins, so Ben got Petes number and called him today. So we will give it a try. I hope everyone has a great Holiday season. PJ and I will be in MI on Tuesday and will be there for a couple of weeks. We are excited.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Jump Off Rock

We went on road trip to a town called Ashville. We ended up in the mountains at a place called Jump Off Rock. It was very cloudy and hazy so the view was not good but it was still fun. We went on a 10 minute hike and then let PJ crawl around for a little bit since we had been in the car for a couple hours. There was a older couple by the rock that offered to take our picture. I thought great we can get a good family photo. We decided to go sit on this bench that was about 20 feet away from where we were standing, thinking he would follow us over there. Well he didn't and the batteries were dying on the camera. He took on photo and then I asked him to zoom in on us to get a close up since he didn't come by us. Well the camera died and as you see in the slide show our close up did not work out. If you can find us between to two big trees that is our family photo. Oh well, it was the thought that count. Anyway, it was nice to get out of our town and actually go see more of North Carolina.

A germ fest life savior

When we were home for Thanksgiving our planes got changed. We were suppose to have our normal 3 1/2 to 4 hour flight(that is including a layover) that we normally have but the first flight got changed so we were going to miss our connector to GR. So they got us on another flight that went to Atlanta then to GR. The only good thing about our trip home was that PJ and I got to sit in first class on the first flight. If I wasn't pregnant I just might have ordered a beer. We had a three hour layover in Atlanta, this is after we got to the airport in Charlotte early b/c we flew out on Wednesday and thought it would be really busy and take forever to check in. Well we got to the airport and there was no line anywhere. I have never seen that airport so dead. We checked in and got through security in 15 minutes. So we had already sat in the airport for a couple hours prior too Atlanta. Well then our flight got delayed and I think we ended up sitting in Atlanta for like 4 1/2 - 5 hours. That is a long time for any adult to sit there let along and 10 month old. Good thing Pete was flying with me this time. Well they had a little area for kids to play on. I think all public kids toys are disgusting but at that point I did not care. It entertained PJ for a while, I just kept the wipes close by and cleaned his hands often. We ended up getting in Michigan and like 11:30 pm and we got to Charlotte airport at 2. That is 9 1/2 hours in an airport. Too long. Thanksgiving was wonderful though and we had a great visit.
