My parents drove down to visit us a couple of weekends ago and we had a great time. They left MI on Thursday and then went back on Monday. The weather was in their favor when they were here so we were able to be outside
alot. It was mid-60's most of the weekend.
PJ was happy to have someone else to play with besides his parents. We went to a National Whitewater Rafting park that is
man made. They are going to hold the
Olympic tryouts there in April. When we were there they had the Americans and Canadians there that were doing a few races. So we could have saw a
Olympian finalist that day. My dad took some pictures of them so we will have to see. There is also the biggest outdoor rock climbing wall there and 11 miles of trails there as well. It was a great place to go hang out and watch people for the afternoon.
PJ is now
officially walking and he had a lot of practice that day. His legs were so tired but he did not want to ride or be carried. After a great afternoon at the park we were going to go out for dinner. My mom and Pete made a bet and my mom lost so she had to come down to NC and buy Pete dinner. We were looking for a BBQ place since that is known down here. We got a GPS when we moved down here and named the lady that talks Julie. Julie did not help us one bit. She brought us to
restaurant's that were either not open or did not
exists anymore. Me being pregnant and hunger was getting a little impatient. The picture of the Hog Wild
restaurant was our 2 stop but there were a lot of driving around in between the two.
PJ was tired and crabby and so was his mom. We finally found a
restaurant that is actually owned by a MI man. We had been there before but is was not a BBQ place. So next time they come down we will find a good BBQ place. We also went to another park about an hour away that has a whole bunch of activities for kids. Animals, play area, a train, fish and snake
aquarium, and lots of kids. So we went up there and let him play for a while. Then almost every night we played
Wii, and it was very entertaining. My dad beat Pete up a little but
thats alright (he
accidentally hit him a few times with the remotes). We had a great time with them and were thankful that they were able to come down. We look forward for our next visitors.
