Monkey Joes

We took PJ to a place called Monkey Joes to get him out of the house. We have been home a lot this week so I thought it would be a great way to burn off some energy. It is just like a bounce party where they have all inflatable slides and things to bounce on. He was little for some of the stuff but he loved the slide.

After a few times with daddy we sent him on his own.

I had gotton a watermelon slushy ( I have actually been wanting one for a while, but none of the ice cream places by us don't have them, so I was excited to get one) I think I got maybe 1/4 of it before he got a hold of it. The sacrifices we make for our kids.

Happy Mothers Day!

I just wanted to say Happy Mothers Day to all you moms that read my blog. I hope you have a wonderful day. At church this morning the sermon was about God Fearing Mothers and I just thought I would share with you the layout of it.
We were in the book of Proverbs in the last chapter. When we left the women received a book mark and this is what is on it. It sums of this passage.

A Portrait of God Fearing Mothers
Proverbs 31:10-31

God-fearing mothers .....
1. are rare and hard to find
2. are priceless
3. are trusted by their husbands
4. make great marital companions
5. embrace their responsibilities joyfully
6. manage their households well
7. exhibit financial wisdom
8. are generous and eager to help those in need
9. are diligent family planners
10. empower their husbands
11. are resourceful
12. dress with dignity
13. face the future anxiety and worry free ( he also referenced Matt 6:6 with this one)
14. speak words of wisdom in a tone of kindness
15. reject laziness and maximize the moment
16. are respected by their families
17. take good care of themselves, but realize beauty is fading
18. fear God above all
19. are respected in their communities
20. exemplify a sacrificial attitude by putting others first

I just thought it was great reminder for us woman and how we live our lives as God Fearing woman. We can get so caught up in the fast passed world sometimes that we forget or dont take time to spend with our heavenly father. To be the best God fearing mother is to sit in the presence of Jesus Christ every day cause he is the one who is going to help us through our day. Our pastor encouraged us to pick three of these points and work on them in our daily lives. With the crazy world out there we have to equip our children and get them ready to face this world that we are raising them in. To me its scary, but with God by our side we can handle it. So I encourage all you mothers to do the same.

To my mom and Petes mom: Happy Mothers day! I wish I could give you a hug today but hopefully I can in a few weeks. Thank you so much for all that you do for us. You both are great role models and I look up to you more than you know. You have shaped and prepared me to be a great mom and I am forever thankful for that. I love you both. Happy Mothers Day!

Doc's apointment

Last week I was 36 weeks and my new doc does a routine ultrasound at 36 weeks. So we got to see our baby boy. We did not have one with PJ that late in the pregnancy so we weren't sure what it was going to be like. It was amazing. They guess he weighs 7 lbs and think he has some chubby cheeks. He was sucking on his fingers and playing with his toes. Then he yawned and it was amazing to see. Everything looked nice and healthy. Then I had another appt today and nothing is really happening yet. I was about 50% thinned out but not dilated yet. He is low which I can tell and I am positive for strep B. So I have to get an IV for atleast 4 hours prior to delivering. I have been having a little back labor but no contractions yet. At my ultrasound I swore they told me I was measuring ahead again but then today I was measuring on schedule. So I dont know. I do know that I am ready to be done though and meet our new little guy. So that is the update on the pregnancy. I am going tomorrow to get a pedicure and looking forward to it. I will let you all know when he arrives, so keep checking back. Until then have a good weekend. To all you mothers "Happy Mothers Day"

To our surprise!

Today Pete got home from work early and it was hot so we decided to go to the pool. I thought we would be there long enough to get wet and then head back home since PJ will most likely not like the water. He has not liked his baths for the past few months now and I thought there is no way he is going to like the pool. Well to our surprise he absolutely loved it. It really isn't that warm yet either. He was unsure of it at first but then he start splashing and loved it. Pete was swinging him around and he even stood on the bottom step and only his head was sticking out of the water. Now we know that we can go there and enjoy the pool for a while.

Free Ride

When we were in MI we went and saw my Grandma DeVries. She calls PJ "little Peter"(haha) cause my Grandpas name was Pete and plus he is a junior of course. PJ often reminds me of my Grandpa when he makes certain faces, I think he will look like him. My Grandpa never got to meet him and wish he would have. He would have loved playing with him. When we were getting ready to leave my Grandma was going to leave with my mom so she took PJ for a ride on her walker. He loved it and she got to show him off as she pushed him down the hall. It was cute to see and she was proud.
